Thursdays are for Thrifting, week 4 Plus Outfit du Jour: Waiting for the Sun

I basically hit the thrifting jackpot this week at Unique Thrift Store, one of my favorites. I've been wanting some wedges forever and I found these yellow beauties for just $7. I'm going to wear them yellow for a while but I may end up trying some DIY paint techniques on them. You never know. I also told myself that from now on I should look for things that I don't just love but that fit the style I am most comfortable wearing and feel most myself in and the things I prefer to wear have a very '60s/'70s vibe going on. Even when I wear jeans and tunics, I always think having a long top and adding my suede riding boots gives it a little more of a '60s feel. Anyway, with that in mind (and remembering that I believe in entering thrift stores empty minded) I found some real gems to bring home (and about 50 gems I passed up but am still kinda lusting after). Also, sidenote: the lovely glitter platform mary jane's that I will be reviewing for CSN stores came in yesterday and though they didn't seem like a good idea to wear thrifting or walking around in all day, I'm going to wear them and review them for you very, very soon. They're pretty much amazing; I can already tell.

Yellow Platform Wedges: $7.
Navy Blue Embroidered Blouse: $6.

Vintage Lace Blouse: $5.

I fell in love with the dress...but moreso with the pattern. I'm going to have it taken in and hemmed pretty short...can't wait.

Printed Vintage Dress: $5.

Vintage Floral Dress: $6.

Metallic Tunic: $10.

Red Vintage Beret: $2.

Vintage Blouse: $4.

Vintage Dress: $4.
Here's a quick look at what I wore today to do some thrifting and get coffee with a friend.
Boots: Nine West, $100.
Jeans: Levi's, $35.
Black Sweater: Thrifted, $2.50.
Black Beret: Merona, $5.
Brown Bag: Charlotte Russe, $10.

  2. I love the red beret! I need a winter hat so badly...I can't find one anywhere...if only I had awesome thrift stores here in NYC (I know i should not complain about living here, its rad but we have horrible thrift stores, in terms of what we think of thrift stores being). Anyhow, you always score amazing stuff, I'm jealous.
