outfit du jour: radio sweetheart

I'm wearing leopard print again because I wanted to be ready for Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Link Up (which I guess isn't until tomorrow). I've had this leopard print blouse for a couple years and it's a go-to for fall. Bright blue leopard print? Yes, please.

Also, I've been trying to play around and do some new things with my photos. Not sure I'm thrilled with today's results. I know you can't see them too well, but I really didn't have a chance to take any others yesterday after seeing how these turned out. At least they're...different? I was getting tired of the same old brick wall/driveway/under a tree photos over and over. Weren't you? I'll try to think of a better location for tonight's pictures.

And I'm linking up to Silverstyle's Trending Through the Decades. This week's theme is boots. I picked up these Betsey Johnson's (maybe the first thing that made me really fall in love with Betsey Johnson) at the Zappo's outlet for just $60 a few years ago.

Friday and time for another Trending Through the Decades at Silverstyle. I'm so glad Tammy started this new link up, because I love participating in them. They always really push me to create new looks. This week the theme is animal print and that's something I definitely love wearing so I was excited to push myself to style it slightly differently than I normally do. I really like how this look turned out. Last night when I went out I ended up switching to black skinny jeans and bright pink socks with these shoes. Not sure which version I like more, so I'll probably be photographing the other one in the near future for you too.

And it's not too late to join in on this week's Thursdays are for Thrifters Link Party, so make sure you visit that post and make your submissions!

I'm also going to link this post up to Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Animal Print Link Up.

outfit du jour: fake empire

Yesterday I decided to participate in Two Birds' Inspiration Challenge. The inspiration photo they provided styled a plaid blouse with a plaid skirt, but after lots of tries, I finally decided to style leopard print on leopard print. I actually really liked wearing two leopard print pieces so close together. I think this outfit is definitely a keeper. Today I want to participate in Everybody, Everywear but I'm not sure I feel like pulling out a maxi skirt when it's just 60 degrees today...Decisions, decisions.

Remember that if you want to be featured in this week's 'Thursdays are for Thrifters' post, submissions are due by tomorrow. See the full details by clicking here. Jeans: Arizona, $20. Blue Leopard Print Tunic: F21, $17. Grey Leopard Print Sweater: F21 $12.

I wore my hair up for the second time in two months. Crazy, huh? I know this isn't a big deal to anybody else, but this is sooo not me. I've always hated wearing my hair up so the fact that I wore it up today and actually *left* the house...insane. I've always thought my face looked weird when my hair wasn't down (Remember, your hair distracts from your face.) but I don't know...it's kinda sorta growing on me, though I doubt I'll be doing it often. I just liked the crazy volume I got by putting a little bit of mousse in my hair before pulling it back.
