Honestly, this outfit doesn't feel right to me at all. I've had this dress since I was in high school, and have been looking for an opportunity to wear it again, to help me decide if it's worth keeping or not. Since Tammy at Silver Style has started a new link up, Trending Through the Decades, which I've been really excited to participate in, and the theme this week was polka dots, I thought it was the perfect chance to wear this dress. I think I've decided it's time to donate this one, because it just doesn't fit my style anymore, but I'm glad I gave it one more chance.
Dress: super old, I don't remember where it was from or how much it was. Sweater: Old Navy, $20.
Vintage Love Knot Earrings: Secondhand, Gift.
Thanks for your comment!ReplyDelete
this is a really cute dress! Polka dots always give off a retro vibe. The earrings are pretty great too :) Have a nice weekendReplyDelete
Now that I have my ears pierced (yes, after twenty one years, I got them done), I want earrings!!!!! And those little earrings are super cute ♥ReplyDelete
Love the red bag! maybe you could sell the dress in your etsy shop. I think you look adorable and I know lots of peeps love polka dots...ReplyDelete

Great post, and great outfit!ReplyDelete
what a great polka dot dress! love the bright pop of color with the purse and the edging!ReplyDelete
I think the polka dot dress is pretty and with those Jessica Simpson sling back heels you look to cute. I love how you add red with the purse. Polka dots are so hot for fall and winter.ReplyDelete
I love this dress, it's super cute! It's not your usual style but you look gorgeous. I love the red vintage bag too, what a lovely gift.ReplyDelete
Beautiful dress. Glad you got a chance to wear it again!ReplyDelete
wonderful use of polka dots, I also love the red bagReplyDelete
love it, those earrings are one of the top kind to have if you only have a few pairs.. i think its like pearls, (fake) diamonds, knot earrings, hoops...ReplyDelete
That polka dress is beautiful! But if it doesn't fit your style anymore, I agree with donating it, it would make someone else's day brighter when they get their hands on it, so you're doing a good thing here :) And I just like that red vintage bag, it's in such pristine condition.ReplyDelete
A Single Girl's Musings
You may not like it anymore, but you look so pretty, I loved the dress!!! I love polka dots, in fact, so, how could I not love your dress now? It's really cute! And the bag is great, red is my favorite color!ReplyDelete
I really like this dress, and its good for the upcoming season with polka dots being so on trend. I really love that red purse, its beautiful! You have great style!ReplyDelete
I think you look lovely. Not exactly the look you usually put out there but fits your "retro" vibe.ReplyDelete
Dump it or keep it, if it doesn't make you happy and feel special...........donate.
Thank you so much for linking up. I'm happy that I have 6 so far! Next week I have to make it a more narrow window. I feel like I can't do a new post until the window has expired and I always have something to say and share.
What do you think?
I think you look great! I have been looking everywhere for polka dots. If it is a trend, someone forgot to tell the merchants in Wichita!ReplyDelete
It's adorable... my instinct would be to keep it, but I'm a recovering hoarder! I'm sure whoever thrifts it next will put it to good use!ReplyDelete
Lovely shoes! <3ReplyDelete
I love the dress too, and you look wonderful in it. But you are right: if it doesn't feel like "you," it's time to move on. Someone will be very happy with it!ReplyDelete
the dress is really flattering, but if you don't wear it than pass it on!ReplyDelete
I have clothes like that too. Have a good weekend.ReplyDelete
We should always give our cloth a second chance! It doesn´t look bad, i´ll say you keep it.ReplyDelete
Love the knotted earrings!Great find.
what an interesting concept, trending through the decades!! Glad you found a use for this dress. I have pieces like that, the ones you don't want to part with but never wear. As soon as you toss them, there is the occasion you've been waiting for and you think, if only I had that dress right now! You look great!ReplyDelete
I totally do that too - wear something for the last time knowing I'm going to give it away. It's like our last little good-bye. ;)ReplyDelete
Dirty Pink Cardigan
I do that very same thing--wear an item one more time before deciding to give it away. I guess it's like closure :) Don't give those shoes away though, those are hot!ReplyDelete
The polka dots are WAY cute. But I understand why it needs to go.ReplyDelete
Also now that I know you also have tiny feet I will probably email you with pics next time I am getting rid of some shoes ;) Then I can gift you any that you like.
oh that is a pretty polka dot dress! really worth keeping it :)ReplyDelete
i just love polka dots!ReplyDelete

I love this feminine style on you. What a beautiful smart style, although I know you favor a bohemian style better. I love both. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xoReplyDelete
