outfit du jour: dead flowers

I didn't take very many pictures yesterday because it was a long day. I've been wanting to go shopping for weeks. So, since I had decided that I wanted to do a feature on Thursdays about thrifting, I decided to go shopping. I went to two of my favorite Louisville thrift stores but basically had no luck at all. First at Goodwill I looked through the entire store and all I found was a pair of wooden post earrings for .50. Then I decided to try the Unique Thrift Store, where I always have good luck. Not yesterday. I found two little vintage bags and spent less than $5. They're cute, but I have like a million vintage clutches (okay, maybe like 15? seriously, way too many). And while I love them, when do I ever carry a clutch? Not often enough. They're so hard to use when you're actually *doing* something. They just aren't practical in most situations. So I decided to save thrifting for another day and return a few things to JCPenney's and maybe look around. They always have cute I Heart Ronson and Bisou Bisou things that I can't get enough of. But yesterday? Half the space usually reserved for misses clothing was taken up by puffy orange coats. I didn't find anything at all. Finally, I decided I should go to Charlotte Russe; I can never leave Charlotte Russe emptyhanded. But yesterday...I did. It was a sad day. So, needless to stay, I'm still feeling the need to shop.

Jeans: Levi's, $35.

Pink Lace Tank Top: Xhileration, $7.

Grey Long Sleeved Shirt: Old Navy, apx. $10.

Earrings: Majestic, $2. I did find these earrings at Rugged Wearhouse on Wednesday and I love them since I've decided that I prefer posts, or at least earrings that don't dangle.

Necklace: Handmade, Gift.

Brown Ring: Charlotte Russe, $4.

Black Ring: Gift.

Silver Ring: Masquerade, $5.

Vintage Leather Bag: Thrifted, $3.

Black Suede Boots: Nine West, $100.

  1. bummer you didn't find much! but that just means you're going to hit the thrifty jackpot soon ;) i'm with you on the clutches too, i always see tons of them at the store, and they are cute to look at, but in practice they suck! maybe you can find a crafty way to attach a strap to them?

it's just more satisfying on looking rather than buying full price clothes
