outfit du jour: treats

This week was the toughest Inspiration Monday yet. Those girls over at Two Birds really know how to create a challenge! I tried and tried and tried to think of a different way to do this outfit, but the inspiration just didn't come...so this is what I ended up with. This is one of those "eh" outfits. I feel like I've been wearing crop pants a lot lately. These are actually just rolled up jeans, though. And...I can definitely say I will never wear a blazer in 90 degree weather again.

outfit du jour: waiting for the end of the world

This week, for Two Birds' Inspiration Monday we were asked to take inspiration from a menswear inspired look. I scoured my grandfather's collection of '40s and '50s ties (no, sadly, he doesn't wear them anymore-though I've encouraged it) but I couldn't find one that matched my look. And to be honest, after wearing way too may ties over my band t-shirts in high school, I've kind of shied away from that look for the past several years. Anyway, I have been waiting for the right time to pull this light yellow, short-sleeved dress shirt from my closet. It was handed down to me in the fall, and I just had a feeling that with crop pants it would make a great '50s look. So, today I pulled it out. I threw on some heels (okay...to me, Betseys are not just 'some heels;' they were carefully chosen) and figured it worked...kinda...for menswear? It does to me, anyway. Next time I wear this, I'm definitely pairing it with black Chucks (one item for my high school days that I'm still not over wearing yet.)

I also want to take a minute to thank Claire from Spinning Threads for passing on an awesome blog award to me. It always makes my day when someone lets me know they enjoy my blog-whether it's through an award, following or leaving a comment. Thanks Claire!

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that all the blogger issues of last week are behind us. I've heard that some people may have lost posts or even entire blogs, so I'm just grateful I didn't and am hoping none of you guys did either!

This is what I wore for
Inspiration Monday at Two Birds. I liked this week's inspiration a lot. I've always liked Drew Barrymore's style, but I loved this simplicity of this look. I can definitely see myself wearing it again.

I know that last week there were a *lot* of problems with Thursdays are for Thrifters because of the blogger issues. I'm hoping this week it will be much easier. So don't forget to get your outfits and finds ready. You can see the full rules or make a submission to last week's link party
here.

Finally, as always, if you become a follower or leave a comment, I'll do my best to do the same for you as soon as I can!

outfit du jour: dreams

Yesterday I wore this orange, floral, vintage maxi dress for Everybody Everywear's Floral Challenge. I'm still pretty excited about it. I thrifted it a few months ag and have been waiting for the perfect time to wear it. I wish it had been sunnier, because this dress just needs a lot of sunlight, but maybe next time I wear it...which is sure to be very, very soon.

outfit du jour: rave on

I wore this outfit yesterday for Two Birds' Inspiration Monday. I have to say, this was one of my favorite inspiration outfits. I've always loved Nicole Richie's style and while this outfit wasn't as '60s/'70s inspired as many of hers are, it was still cute and simple. And I got to wear shorts (which I pretty much never do), which was great since it's been really hot lately.

Also don't forget to be getting your outfits and finds together for the 'Thursdays are for Thrifters' link party. The full rules can be found here. If you have any questions about it, just leave me a comment.

I've also added buttons on the side that it make it easier for you to subscribe via e-mail or through Networked Blogs. Remember, if you leave a comment or become a follower (let me know if you follow through e-mail or bloglovin'), I'll always do the same for you!

Jumper: Mudd, $5., Denim Shirt: Thrifted, $2.50., Shoes: Old Navy, $4, Belt: from Rugged Wearhouse, $3. (Don't mind my posing. My photographer was laughing at my knees. Appearantly they're darker than the rest of my legs for some reason.)

Sunglasses: from Fashion Shop, apx. $5.

Earrings: Thrifted, 50 Cents.

Necklace: Betsey Johnson, Gift.

Bracelet: Masquerade, $5.

Ring: F21, $3.

Ring: F21, $4.
